In the process of creating the visuals of “FIXTURES,” the latest album by Futuredraft, an avant-garde approach was taken to craft a visually stunning experience that mirrors the intricate production of the music itself. The project involved designing unique graphics for the main album and two additional singles, each graphic encapsulating the essence of the respective tracks. The creative process began with the careful selection of nature images that resonate with the album’s theme, from an open source google earth dataset. To transform these images into a dynamic visual experience, a custom algorithm was developed that deconstructs each image down to its pixels and then orchestrates them through a pixel sorting technique. The sorting sequence is programmed to respond to both the brightness of the images and the rhythmic patterns of the music, creating a mesmerizing effect that flows seamlessly with the tracks. This method mirrors the way samples are intricately woven together in the music production, where each piece is placed to forge something entirely new and captivating. The result is a compelling fusion of sight and sound, offering an immersive experience that enhances the auditory journey with a visual narrative that is equally rhythmic and engaging.
