MLINK tool

Info

MLINK tool is a custom generative design system developed for MLINK Records, an electronic music hub and label based in Athens. With four to eight releases each month, the label needed a way to sustain a strong, recognizable visual identity across cover art and motion assets while ensuring that each release remained distinct. The tool addresses this by centralizing the entire visual production process into a single interface, enabling the creation of static artworks for digital or analogue use, as well as animated visuals across multiple aspect ratios and durations for Spotify, SoundCloud, Instagram, YouTube, and more. Instant “magic” randomization produces new compositions on demand, while manual controls allow designers to precisely shape layout, color, and motion—balancing experimentation with brand consistency.

At its core, the system is built on a modular structure of pre-designed geometric components arranged in rows and columns, capable of repeating, mirroring, and shifting across the canvas. This underlying logic guarantees visual cohesion and balance across infinite variations. A preset export and recall function allows editors to save, reuse, and reference configurations over time, supporting continuity across the catalogue. By replacing repetitive manual production with an intuitive generative workflow, the MLINK tool enables the label to release high volumes of polished visual content without compromising quality. Each artwork and motion piece is unique, yet clearly part of a coherent visual language that evolves alongside the label’s sound and identity.
