R–M tool

Info

R-M developed for the launch of Rasoir, a typeface by Giorgos Fyllis. This project explores the dynamic interaction between typography and technology through a custom generative tool. Designed and coded by alāsu.works, the tool reimagines Rasoir’s letterforms by extending their bezier curves, creating compositions that exist in a constant state of transformation. The visuals embody a tension between opposing forces—past and present, analog and digital, culture and technology. As the glyphs evolve beyond their original forms, they generate intricate digital impressions, bridging the gap between traditional type design and computational aesthetics. Typography ceases to be static; instead, it becomes fluid, algorithmic, and endlessly reconfigurable. The project redefines the boundaries of type, illustrating how digital tools can transform and expand the language of letterforms. The analogue materials are printed in black and white on Chromolux Matte Silver (42 x 59.4 cm), these visuals serve as both an artistic expression and a conceptual extension of Rasoir’s typeface philosophy.
